Other names: Amaranth, Pao roxo, Violet wood, Morado, Columbian purpleheart.
Highland purpleheart is very seldom available and comes from the upper reaches of the Brazilian amazon, Peru and southern Columbia. It is significantly denser and finer textured than typical purpleheart, and the colour is very much more intense.
This wood has that 'wow' factor that we always seek in exotic hardwoods.
